Getting into this box is what's best for both of us. During your time in the box, you will learn so much, and yet experience so little. It's a wild ride, my friend, one well worth the time spent...and let's face it, you don't have much to do these days anyway.

I, for one, welcome...
...Women into combat roles in the military.
This has been quite extensively covered by the Androsphere, and being raised in a society that claims to value meritocracy above all else, I applaud this move. Indeed, I would like to see opportunities for women who have passed the pre-existing physical standards to see combat, perhaps going as far as to set up a female-only company.
Now you ladies can join us men in the wonders of being shot, exploded, tortured, beheaded, imprisoned, enslaved, and raped by some Middle Eastern warlord's flunky who will surely be glad to have a change from buttfucking little boy soldiers and male PoWs!
Oh, and the draft? Exemption of women from the draft in the US of A is currently upheld by Rosker v. Goldberg, which clearly states:
"The existence of the combat restrictions clearly indicates the basis for Congress' decision to exempt women from registration. The purpose of registration was to prepare for a draft of combat troops. Since women are excluded from combat, Congress concluded that they would not be needed in the event of a draft, and therefore decided not to register them."
Thanks to Leon Panetta, this majority opinion is clearly no longer valid. So, let's end Selective Service discrimination today! Pony up for the slaughterhouse alongside us menfolk, ladies!
In all seriousness, though, we all know what's going to happen. Being a navy bastard myself, I have no problem with women in combat roles, so long as a) they meet all the pre-existing standards and b) they don't disrupt the effectiveness of others by their presence. I've met navy ladies who hit both marks and gave them the respect they deserved, but I can count their number on the fingers of both hands.
Of course, judging from what happened in the firefighters and police force in various anglosphere countries, we all know the standards are going to be lowered to let them play soldier, more than they already have been. Also, my guess is that shortly before or during deployment, a significant percentage of these ladies playing soldier will mysteriously get themselves pregnant and manage to skip duty. It's already happening with non-combat deployments, what do you think of combat ones?
Hey, if a guy wants to be a model or a nurse, he's got to play by the girls' rules. Fair's fair. There is a difference between a handful of high testoterone women who pull their own weight and earn respect and a large number of chit-chatting chickens who want to get all the privileges and none of the responsibilities of playing soldier.
Seriously, I applaud this move. Uncle Sam might keep victim classes entitled and safe back at home, but out in the middle of the howling wilderness, Mohammed and Mr. Reality aren't going to give a damn.
